Yea, I remember reading about him when he was still racing.  Interesting to hear the announcer say that the bike was one of only two V/8 bikes in the world.  How times change!
I don't want it to go like a motorcycle, I want it to go like a rocket!

Here is a pic of his 2 bikes.  Bloody Mary in the front, Widowmaker in the rear.  Pics taken 2009 at the Gilmore Museum.

I think there is a tiny  v-8 on display at Barber, production bike made by MV Agusta  if my reccollection is accurate.

E.J. Potter was really big into tractor pulling also. He built some wild creations. He used to come and pull here in Kazoo and would really wake up the crowd when he would fire up one of his aircraft engined tractor or one of his other creations. The guy really dug huge engines and big horsepower. Hanging out with him would have been a blast.

This one perhaps? It's a Morbidelli:

They also had a Moto Guzzi V8 on loan at one time. Not sure if it's still there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_Guzzi_V8
Where you come from is gone.
Where you thought you were going to, weren't never there.
And where you are ain't no good, unless you can get away from it.

Morbidelli supplied a packing crate with the bike, the purpose of it was to ship the bike back to the factory, when it needed a Tune-Up....no I am not kidding..
They are a high end woodworking machine mfg, and I believe the owner has a huge bike collection..
