CB500f camchain
« on: March 23, 2013, 09:49:04 PM »
Hi all,

I'm just starting to rebuild the top end of a CB500f for a track bike. The last one of these I did was 40 yaers ago. I didnt like the cam chain tensioner then and still don't. Is there any improvements or mods to make them any better?  also does anyone use heavy duty camchains or are the replacement ones OK these days?

Thanks
JI

I use a shortened 750 HD chain with a rivot link. The original MAY be sufficient but is harder on a slipper tensioner. Turboguzzi modified a (more) modern camchain tensioner but I can't find the thread at the moment.

Good on you for getting back out there on a middleweight!
