550F bottom cylinder gasket o ring?

According to this, there are orings that go below the base cylinder gasket? I don't remember finding any when I removed the original gasket. Would they just sit below the base gasket around the pistons? I have o rings in my kit that seem to fit the bill but it doesn't make much sense for them to just sit there

any clarification or insight would be great! thanks

looking at this thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=82355.0 it seems they are the "cylinder sleeve orings" i'm just confused on where exactly it should fit... if it's around the sleeves where they stick out of the bottom of the cylinder wouldn't that put them on top of the base gasket? not below like the parts diagram shows?

They  fit in a groove where the cylinders stick out under the barrels.

Definitely in there.  Or whoever opened it up before you forgot to put them in .  Here's a pic of my 500 torn down (I will be posting pics of the whole rebuild soon.):
