Basically my 550 keeps blowing the main fuse and sometimes melting it. It blew 5 times today alone on a 60 mile ride. Ive checked all the wiring amped out while idling and at highway rpms and nothing. It only blows when i am almost at a complete stop it blows , it is hot and i know the theory that it could be the fuse clamps and thats why th fuse is hot as #$%* when i pull it out but any fuse running at its amp limit for an extended period of time will heat up the fuse. Not that the loose or corroded clamps wouldnt do this but so can any hi resistive short. IF the fuse for some reason is pulling 14 amps for an hr and then hits 15 the fuse would be hot. I havnt seen with my amp prob it go over 9 amps though. Any other thoughts. Also i have a new battery but the bike sometimes will button start and sometimes the battery is dead. If i ride it for and hr and then turn it off i can button start it but if i wait more than a few mins it wont and ill have to kick it. Not sure if this could be related but when the fuse isnt blowing the bike runs like a dream , it kicks starts the first time every time. I put brand new carbs on it. my fuse clamps seem tight and i have already cleaned them and it still blew 5 times today, the most times its ever done it before is like once or twice a month
