Howdy everyone
« on: July 19, 2006, 07:59:21 PM »
Hi, my name is Jeff and I'm currently without a bike.... and that sucks!

Last week I sold my 98 Honda Superhawk that I bought new in 99. I liked it very much, but I sold it to make the summer easier financially due to the birth of my first child, Lucy.

Anyway, I'm currently looking for a cheap CB550 to commute with for the summer, and possibly do it up cafe like, sort of. I've found one that I'm interested in alot, but it's 400 miles away. So if anyone in the Mpls/St.P area has one that I could sit on and get the feel for, that would be killer!

I just test rode a CB750 today. I liked the general feel, but it was WAY heavier than any bike I've ever owned. I think the 550 will be more to my liking.

For a bit of history, I started riding about 13 years ago. First bike was an 89 Katana 600. Then a 91 CBR600F2 that was so sweet, followed by a 96 F3. That was replaced with my recently departed Superhawk. I've always been a sportbike type guy, but the naked bikes and cafe style is really starting to appeal to me.

I've only perused the boards a bit, but so far it seems like there's a good crowd here, with alot of very nice bikes. Proteal55, you have a fan of your bike right here. It's excellent!

welcome aboard, nude is good, why hide the motor since you will end up tinkling around with it anyway.

Welcome, Jeff,  from another site newbie. Don't close the door on a 650, too. They are also somewhat lighter than the 750's.
