Topic: MTC Stroker Pistons

As I'm packing for my move out West, I keep finding things I didn't know I have. The latest is a set of MTC 970cc stroker pistons which eliminates the need for stroker rods. Does anybody have experiance with these? While the box was labeled "good pistons" who here on the forum can check these?

I dont think they change the need for stroker rods, they do eliminate shimming the barrel and head up.. I thnk I Have some like that......where out West ?

I've got the original MTC catalog. I just can't get my copier to scan it to the pc. They moved the wrist pin hole 1/4" to match to stroke. Las Vegas! whoo hah!

When I bought my Turbo it came with a set of MTC Trubo pistons and I sent them down to MTC
they checked them out and sent them back but with a new set of the same pistons
the old pistons were fine...........
They can check them for you

I could have used the old ones but sense I replaced everything with new Items then why not new pistons also
That was kind of confusing wasn't it?
So I have used Turbo pistons but new ones in the bike
but you know me

If you have the pin hole moved up in the piston (can't be 1/4" ), then you do not need to run the short rods. The photo looks like the pin was moved up 1/8th inch, so you could run a 1/4" stroker with stock length rods.

Thanks Jay. I measured the wrist pin hole against a couple of other pistons and there is a difference of 1/8".
