Perhaps Chapman build more than one of those frames?  Sure looks similar?

    I guess you would know!  You posted the link to that pic and many others here a while back.  I found the thread in another forum from 2008? asking for information on this bike and noticed you responding.  I'm ver curious then as to why the before and after difference on the diagonal bracing at the rear of the chassis.  On the pre restoration shot the brace goes from the lower engine mount up toward the rear fender and on the post restoration bike the brace goes from the "seat" area diagonally toward the ground and back, opposite from the original position.  Different directions and welded structural members?  Why would one do such structural surgery on a vintage drag frame with no first hand knowledge of any problem to begin with(the owner before Bill never raced it as far as I know)

The chassis is different from side to side George, look at both sides after resto on this page, your post, reply #29.  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=118421.25

I'm not sure why it was done like that but it is the same bike.

That xtra tube on chain side is to help keep that side of frame from twisting cuz of chain under tension trying to pull rear sprkt. forward.

OOOOOOH,

     That make sense!  I'm just not used to seeing non symmetrical frames I guess!  Bill will be smiling for weeks after a few runs on the Tiger I'm sure!
