Thanks all.

I really had a blast building it. Took me a while to gather all of the parts, about 18 months. Oddly enough, I enjoy the build more than riding it - I always do , no matter what the project...I like bringing them back to life...It's all about the journey, not the destination for me.. Although , I do enjoy riding it - LOTS.

Nancy,

The seat is original.

CB750F2 - Thanks

What's next? I dunno. If I could find another 750K1, I'd like a RED one...  ;D or Polynesian Blue  ;D

Or maybe a 78-82 Naked Goldwing.

I do have to say that the 71 750K1 is the most fun of any bike I have ever had... It just makes me smile everytime I ride it!   The balance, the sound, the history, the look , you know...

I am really considering selling my 2002 R1150R BMW.. I just don't ride it anymore. I have put less than 200 miles on it all season... It nice, plenty of power, torque galore and handles like a dream and nice to look at(but it sounds like a sewing machine) ::). Highway driving is like sitting in church... But it leaves me cold. Doesn nothing for me..

The bike looks fantastic Otto; congratulations. I'm just about to start work on my own 1970K1 in Valley Green Metallic and the standard of your bike is something to aim for. Enjoy every run on it!

Very nice job..............Valley Green is my next favorite color after Ruby Red. I still have a crook in my neck from turning my head to listen to the HM300s while riding from Wisconsin to LA in 1969. I have just retrieved a K1 from a salvage yard and the front end has Valley Green ears.........maybe another restoration project........I'll know more when the motor is opened up.

Very nice indeed!

Hi
I had a brand new Gold CB750K1 in 1972, pulled a crowd wherever I went. The finish on your cb is brilliant and the colour is fab!
Gives me incentive to get cracking on the CB650Z project I have running, hopeful to be finished in the spring 2011.
Back to the shed!
cheers
John

Thanks again. I enjoyed the build very much. Since I completed it I have purchased a 2007 Bonneville, which I like more than any bike that I have ever had... The K1 is Classic and Classy at the same time, but, the Bonnie REALLY does it for me.

For me, rebuilding the old bikes is a wonderful distraction from real life, so to speak. The journey is more fun than the destination... Once the build is done, I look for my next project...

Odd though, since buying the Bonnie, I have had no real desire for another bike project right away. That doesn't mean I wont do one, just not today. hehe

IfI had to guess, I'd say I have done over a dozen 1970' s HONDA's in the last 2.5 years....

Seeing one as original really drives home how nice a job Honda did in the first place. These bikes are totally deserving of classic status.
Great job on the resto.
Enjoy the ride.

It's not a Bonneville Black if that's what you mean. It is a 2007 Bonneville, Carbed, not fuel injected, 9oocc. SIlver tank and fenders, black side covers, Metzler Lazertechs front and rear Air Injection bypassed, TOR exhaust, rejetted carbs.  Motor is black, engine covers are polished aluminum...  side note: The Bonnie is also MUCH lighter than the K1.

I am kinda hesitant about making the comparison, but, If the HONDA CB750 were built today, I bet it would be VERY similar to the Bonnie in many ways.

Nice work bro! She looks better than showroom! I like that green you shot on her. I'm more into bobbing and chopping than going stock, but wow. I have always believed it is much harder to restore, than to chop or bob. Anybody can chop something up, but to put something back to original is quite a feat. Ride a few miles for me bro, not sure when I'll ever finish mine.
