In a dream..
« on: March 15, 2013, 12:43:39 PM »
Yes I am!  :D

Well, most of you know the story on buying used bikes but mostly dealing with the sellers. The H-1 was a bust due to not playing the sucker. The Suzuki 500T was for the most part complete but in need of work and parts. That thread is under eBay/CL, mystery bike.

Yesterday I got a call from a guy named Corky. Nice fellow with a 1965 Honda 305 Dream. Last titled in 08/65. Send some pictures please. He did. Now, he lives in Wyoming and is going to visit his Sister in California and buy some motorcycles. Offered to drop the Dream off along the way.

After reviewing the pictures and talking with him this appears to be a very original, complete Dream with original tires, battery and tool kit. Seat is not correct and exhaust will need replaced. Gas tank clean.

Guess you could call it a "barn find" because that is where he found it long ago.

The front fender is bent but being metal we can fix that otherwise for $1650 delivered to my house was a deal I did not want to pass up. Frame is one digit higher than the engine.

Well, this will be a frame off for me next fall. I will get it running before then.

Oh! It's the right color too!

Now some pics.  ;)

Very Nice find, you will enjoy this one. Ohio Cycle will probably get some of you business as they have supplies of old NOS and OEM parts...
The white bikes are nice, blue are less commonly seen these days.

I'll look them up. Thanks.

The frame number is the same as the engine other than the last digit is a 4.  8)

The CB77 was a much prettier bike.  The CB92 and CB95 I like better.  The swoopie fenders just don't do it for me. Having a NOS aftermarket chrome front fender for my CA95, I am sorely tempted to redo it as a CB95 replica...

I would very much like to see a pic of that fender.

At one time I thought these were ugly myself. I have since feel in love with them digging the retro styling and so much better in White. It's not everybody's cup of tea however.

For the money, condition, originality and free delivery to my door I could not say no. I'll get it running first then shop for parts in the summer months. My friend paints for beer so it will go down to the frame.

Bike shopping squashed that. The cloud is being delivered late tomorrow or early Sunday.

I'll go next week. Plenty of time when you are retired.  :P

Def need a nice set of matching boots for sure. A friend of mine who recently spied on Toy through his window sent me this classified picture. Its Toy's staff at mission control sifting through the many daily calls and deals  ;)  Now come on its time to give your Mom and Dad a little raise  :D

I have to look for a manual to download. Getting kind of excited here and am suprised at what clean Dream prices are getting up to.
