Awesome, nothing like a start up to get you excited.  Doesn't sound quite right though, one plug fouled?
I've had a Kerker and dislike that bracket that connects to the shock, consider shortening it and bolting to the rear peg mount.
You are almost there.

Thanks Stev-o! Yeah we are not sure if it's lean or fouled.. have to pull the plugs yet. Yes that mount is just crap. Not sure what we are going to fix it with but I like the rear peg mount the best so far... Long day today no work done on the bike. Hopefully tomorrow night. :)

Looking good.  Can you use a spacer to give the header some room from the motor?

We just shoved a piece of rubber in between and left it over night. It's given me a clearance of about 2mm. So we will put something a bit harder in between and leave it there for my trip. Should do the trick.

Long day but we got a wee bit done.

Symbolic chain guard is designed and made. Just needs to be lightly sanded to get all the tooth marks outta it and make her shine... (pictures don't show it but we ground off the nuts and turned them around.

Used Stev-o's idea (thanks!) and cut the exhaust mount to fit to the passenger peg. Still have to sand it and paint it to match my frame but it works!

Tomorrow we finish the seat then I'm off to get ready for my trip. Leaving Thursday. Our plan is bf will clean up the front for me and do a few touch ups, plus fine tune the motor to get her running better while I'm gone.

Bed time. :)

I'm going to my hometown (Fort Frances) to sell my 81 kz440 to my best friend. I'll be gone for about a week (going to teach her how to drive it.)

Thanks, I think the kerker is pretty too :)

Seat hasn't been touched. Our friend had to cancel at last minute. So we turned the rear tire around so its mounted properly and adjusted the chain. Sanded the chain guard for a bit. Rest will have to wait till I get back. Will be going balls to the wall then cause this is my only ride! UGH.

Not very happy but what can a girl do?

Well I'm back. Sold my 440 and taught my gf how to ride.

While I was gone my bf painted the exhaust mount silver, fixed the cable routing, retimed the engine, remounted the headlight and fixed bracket.

The symbolic chain guard looks good but doesn't clear the chain so it's coming off...

Finally got to put the side cover on. Bf tested the battery and it runs everything no problems...

We filed the fins Tuesday night so that the exhaust clears the engine..

Had leak issues with the tank and petcock. Bf put a crush washer in the petcock and that solved that leak. While doing that we discovered that a screw was put right through the tank where the badge goes on the right side (the one that was stripped, what a surprise.) Guess the paint and liner was hiding it before. Bf figured out how to stop it for now (long screw into tank with pipe goo) and I need to figure out how to either fix it or get someone to fix it or get a replacement tank.

Still waiting on seat. All the foam is on now just waiting for the cover so still can't ride it. Dying of impatience here. Bike's on the road, bf put 10km's on it and I haven't got to ride her once. UGH

Yes that tank has been a thorn in my ass since day one! LOL As is the seat...

Yes snow's gone, it's gorgeous out and I'm sitting inside... LOL I will have the worlds biggest hissy fit if my seat isn't finished tomorrow.  :o I'd love to just slap something on and ride it.. but bike is at the shop and I won't get to take her home till I get the seat and a lock.

Hopefully I will be updating with awesome pictures tomorrow night!

Well my seat had turned into a serious pain in my buddy's ass. It just refused to glue. However .....

She is a blast to ride. Can't believe how much snot she has compared to my 440 had. I have quite a few issues to work out. The gas cap is not venting. That's a major issue. Definitely need a new start button. That horrid thing I had to glue in there sticks.  There is an intermittent short in the headlight switch.  The ground for the taillight is odd. LOL And I really need to change out my clutch lever. My hand is killing me from trying to stretch that far and it's a tougher clutch then I'm used to.

But on the road!!!!

Thanks IW! :) Considering the snow has only been gone for about three weeks, yep we're in Canada! ;)

Thanks Ivanhoew and CB750. :) I plan on riding the snot out of her as much as possible.

Off to read my thread on how to fix my gas cap.

Checked the mail when I got up and there was my package from Stev-o. :)

Look at the lovely original clutch lever. So thrilled I just can't thank Stev-o  enough.

So this is the new knock off...

and this is one on top of the other

and this is my "new" original one from Stev-o

I wasn't sure if there was an actual difference or not so we tried to bend the knock off and broke it. LOL So we put the good one on and adjusted it and it's f'ing beautiful. Drove all night long and only a wee bit sore. Huge difference and it's enabled me to ride like I love to. :)

Have a list of things to check, spark plugs, valve adjustment (again,) chain, possibly carbs.... My one cylinder on the far right doesn't seem as hot as the others. So gonna check my plugs but think it's sticking slightly in the carbs. Also need to dial in the carbs for the pods. Neutral is an awful little beast to find when parking and I've slipped into neutral by accident when slowing down for turning... Not sure if it's just me or the bike...

Also kicked her over a few times today. This is really my first bike that I've been capable of kicking (too light for Harleys.) So.. is there a happy trick to it? Pull in the clutch? Pumping it? I find that about halfway down I almost get stuck and have a hell of a time getting past that point. Once I am I can kick her first try.

So excited. I just freaking love this bike. :)

Jeez Steve-o you could've at least polished it up for her!  ::)

Yeah sometimes the after market crap is just that, crap! I had a brake lever snap on me. I'm glad it didn't happen during an emergency stop.
