LOL too true. Plus it is my build. ;)

So we went a painting yesterday. The colour is on! Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest... We built a small paint booth out of a few crate doors and some shower curtains... LOL it actually worked pretty good..

It will be a bit of a textured tank but that's okay. It's all a learning curve to me! Today we make sure it's dried and then add on my "design" onto the gas lid. :) Hopefully I'll have pictures later.

Well the tank is still not dry.  Hopefully by tomorrow morning because it has to be moved out of the way by then. We worked on a few little things.. put the emblem on my side cover...

Used small nuts and some locktight to hold it on. I don't think it's going anywhere now!

We repaired the solenoid. It had some wiring cracked right in half, so splice and sauder! (no idea how you spell that lol)

That's it for today. Time for housework before working tomorrow!

Tank is still not completely dry but enough to cart it home and add my "design" to the lid.. My best friend made the cut out for me. :) Major home down work here! hehe

and finally got to set the tank on it just to see what it'll look like!

Hopefully the tank will fully dry sometime this week. It feels waxy and leaves finger prints if you touch it, yet doesn't mark up? Very weird paint. Probably call the store I bought it from and ask a few questions as no one I know has a clue of why it doesn't seem dry yet does at the same time. That's okay it can just sit for now...

Hopefully get spokes soon as now we are waiting on that!

We worked on sorting out the wiring system (now officially stuck until my wheel spokes come in.)

First we got all the components in the battery box (it's also installed in the bike but no pics of that.)

Then we sorted where everything must go and tackled this mess. It was the ignition wiring.. OMG scary stuff in here..

We cut that crap outta there and fixed it properly

We removed a few other connectors but nothing picture worthy.. Now I wait.. and wait and wait.. LOL

Cleaned up the caliper and found the original master cylinder that was off this bike, cleaned that up too. Gonna clean up the switch housing that I have and try to find something else I can putter on... really hoping my rear spokes come in this week!

Wrong master cylinder...

I got a package in the mail today!

It was my shiny new ignition ring from fatslob! He even wrote me a nice little note. :)

It fits beautifully. That just made my day!

and I kept the note. :)

One more package should show up this week with my new switch and waiting on new spokes, clutch lever and brake hose..

It gives me a warm fuzzy because the gasket looks like a badass track layout.

Worked on the switches yesterday and today. We ended up painting them because stripping them was just not working. We bought some Tremclad that was supposed to be a darker silver.. you'll see.. LOL one piece was painted three times. The first time it fisheyed, the second time I knocked it into the dirt! Man was I ever swearing over that one!

Just some random pics showing how rough mine were (the lovely one I got from goldarrow was nice but they gotta match!)

We did a quick sandblast after dismantling them...

Then onto the paint and a bit of a surprise!

It's like chrome in a can! LOL Unfortunately you can't see the difference in the spray bomb lid and the finished product. The spray bomb looks like a darker grey/silver and this is definitely closer to a chrome...

After a careful evening of surgery to put all the switches back in...

I'd like to figure out a way to fix the kill switch button. Make it black or something. I figure I'll try to find a way to fix it for this next winter...
