Anyone got spares of these?
« on: March 17, 2013, 01:16:56 PM »
Anyone got a spare center stand? Or maybe a good pic or one with a ruler measuring the open end. I think mine's bent inwards cause it doesn't stop on the muffler it flys up on the inside and then it unhooks so i havn't been able to use it. IT's no biggie, just kinda nice for some parking spots and working on it.

Anyone got a spare headlight also? Mine's been mofidied by the guy before me... He soldered a new bulb onto it(like the h4 bulbs or whatever i forget, with the three metal tangs to hold it in place, that's where he soldered it) The only problem is that it smokes a lot because the solder is loosening ha. The bulb is gonna fall out soon or misalign and that's just no fun... Anyone got any ideas for this? Anyone know maybe there's a new headlights that looks JUST like the ones on teh olds 1975 cb400fs but works like a new one?

Anyone got spare stock grips? Mine are too short so there's gaps between where the grip ends and the controls begin. kinda annoying see the washer for the cruise control just kinda doing nothing.

Dime city cycles has an h4 light bucket combo for the smaller fours. You have like 6 1/4" I think. Measure just in xase but they have all styles

I have Pro Grips like these on my K4 and they are great. Only $10....

http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Grip-Dual-Sport-Grips/dp/B001RTCPEW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1363553426&sr=8-3&keywords=progrips

Trim the throttle tube with a hacksaw before putting on the new grip. And use hairspray to easily install it. Yes, really.

Are we talking about a CB750? If so, does it have an aftermarket exhaust, or the original 4-into-4? The original 4-into-4 had the centerstand stop built into the stock muffler bracket. When an aftermarket exhaust is fitted an "L" bracket mounted at the rear footpeg mount is usually required to keep the centerstand from rubbing the chain.

I've got a chrome headlight bucket, similar to the 750 F2/F3, think its off of a 79 DOHC 750C, but uses the same mounting points and stock bulb as the SOHC 750. If the headlight connector is all that was hacked then fixing that back to stock is easy.

Where in Orlando are you? I'm in Saint Cloud and work in Orlando.

Ahhh... I'm pretty sure the 750 headlight bucket is larger, may look out of place on the 400. There are aftermarket options, let me know what you find and if you want a hand fixing the harness at the headlight connection.

There is a 76 CB400F being parted out: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=118219.25 . I try to stick with Paypal when dealing with new members with very few posts. Seems straight up.
