Shifter levers

The first levers were small, narrow, and round. Later, not sure exactly when, they moved to a wide flat shifter. Anyone know why? I think I like the original small one better. More room to move your foot in, and out of that area (big feet).

Hmm? My K5 has a small round shifter. Show some pics to compare?

I think the DOHC motors used them on K series but not F series

My K7 has that bigger gear shifter you are asking about, don't know why they changed it.
I have average size feet and have no issue with it.
