heavy mods
« on: July 22, 2006, 04:14:36 PM »
i was just wondering how far into mods they went with their bikes. For instance i put 2001 gsxr forks, brakes, goldwing wheels(dual rotor). I made my gas tank, bought a dunstall rerar tail custom rear wheel and custom side panels. Kinda neat to see how far people have gone. By the way anyone selling an old yoshi 4 into 1 system? Thanks guys

tranzac zorst, wiseco 836 kit, duel front brakes,dyna's',vfr750/1000 coils, gs650 bars, made my own fuse box(after mine melted!!!), polished the covers, oil pressure guage, finned clutch cover, digital push bike computer/speedo(cant afford to rebuild the stock guages:), nepoleon barend mirrors, modified the switch blocks for the bars, pod filters, jetting, makes 66 horse at the wheel, which i was pretty happy with... peace

yeah i got 2001 gsxr forks and trees. i then had to press the stock stem out. I then completely machined a new stem nuts bearing races etc.( i am lucky and work at a machine shop) then i bought the 74 goldwing wire wheel(comes stock with dual discs and a did aluminum wheel) and i machined a titanuim axle. I had to make spacers for the dual gsxr brakes out of titanium and added the new master cylinder of course. The clip ons had to stay above the top tree for correct geometry. i am not finished with the bike right now but am getting a new rear wheel shockes etc. I laso just made my gas tank which came out awesome in my opinion. the bike is a 1979 cb750k. i also have a 74 cb750f which is next in line for work although i'm keeping it stock.

Apparently, there were some 52 goldwings produced in December of 74...
Pretty low number though.
No.

....but they would have been designated a 1975.

Probably, but they were still stamped '74..
But yeah, for all practical purposes, no '74 Golwings.
No.

Mine has two jet engines out of a mothballed MIG fighter.  Unfortunately it goes too fast to take pics of, so you'll just have to believe me.

BTW - before you ask, it has two engines to balance out the thrust.  When I just had the one on the right side, all I could do was doughnuts to the left.  Got tired of that, so I bolted on another engine to the left side.  Now it goes in a nice straight line.  Sometimes horizontally even!

Just for the record, I need to say that I have worked on a SOHC CB750 simular to the one that bustedrc has described.  It had some modern sport bike stuff on it like suspension, wheels, brakes, swingarm and stuff.  This was up in the Pacific Northwest.  It was a real POS, but I had to at least appreciate the effort that was put into it.  It also was lowered and had 4 into pipes that were so low that it was all but impossible to turn.  I mean even in the big, empty, open parking lot it was hard to turn around.    Draaag, sparks, and lots of laughts from the techs at the shop...  IT was funnier than an OCC bikeee. ;D

But it was quick in a straight line and could stop real fast....  ::)   But I would NEVER, and I mean NEVER have driven that thing on the street!  Ok I did once, but it was on a dare and I almost soiled myself.

Peace and grease.
