Project Frankenstein!
« on: March 21, 2013, 07:04:38 PM »
Greetings everybody,

I'm new to the motorcycle game and not too long ago I acquired a 72 CB350F. I got it pretty cheap so obviously it has a few issues. I had to let it sit for a while and it got got a lil more rust added to it but now I'm ready to begin my project! Upon doing my research I realized how popular these models were with the cafe racers and all my friends are trying to talk me into turning it into a cafe racer, but I'm not so sure. Do you guys have any advice about where to start with the project? And what are some of the pro's and con's to turning the bike into a cafe racer? Thanks!

Buy a manual, and jump on in. Read it and read it and ask questions if you need to understand something.
Start dreaming. Get Obsessed.
Yep, i have issues with this sort of stuff.

I'll point you in this direction.
The very first thing you want to do is get the motor to run the best it can. After that, you might know where you want to go with your bike.
Yep, i have issues with this sort of stuff.

If it isn't hacked up I wouldn't fly tear it apart to fit the scene right now. The bikes are practically cafe from the factory. Get a decent bump seat on there and a smaller tail light and ride it
The dirty girl-1976 cb750k, Ebay 836, Tracy bodykit
Round top carbs w/ 38 pilots, middle needle position, airscrew 7/8ths out, 122 main jet

Cafe a 550 so you can enjoy the extra power. Work on getting the 350 running well before you tear it apart.
