Hi everyone, my name is clint im from outside philly pa. Recently I found a stock 72 cb350f in amazing condition sitting in a friend of a friends barn and scooped it up off the old timer. I was told I was the 3rd owner, and it only has 8k on the od. He was a bit worried I guess if I was gonna modify the bike and i assured him I was gonna leave it stock with the exception of some cafe style bars, which he promtly walked to the back of his garage and pulled out a set he had for the bike. Needless to say I was stoked, now im more of a harley guy but this was too bad ass to pass up IMO, I dont know much about it other than it starts right up, ive been searching the internet and bought a clymer that was step 1. Best bet is to upload them to an online service. I used photobucket but any such site will work fine. Photobucket provides an easy way to copy the image source and paste it into the body of your SOHC message. The code will look like this: [ img]image location info here[ /img].

This will insert your pictures right into the body of the message.

Thanks for all the love lol...took her out for her first ride today and it seemed like anywhere I went people were stoked about the bike. Hopefully after this post I can put up the pics of this beast...I was shocked at how quick it was and also the easiest bike ive ever ridden. Pics coming tommorow.

10w-40 is recommended weight for that bike. RP motorcycle formula 10w-40 should do the trick nicely.

yea but i was told that using a full synthetic on an older bike might mess up the seals in the engine? anyone got any info

hello again I was just wondering, I think my float is stuck in my number two Carb cause its blowin out gas every 15 sec and I was thinking about just blowing seafoam carb cleaner into the overflow to get it un stuck is that a good idea or not? Or should I just put carb cleaner in the gas and see if it helps? Any tips would help thank you

I've never used the seafoam product, so I can't comment on its effectiveness. I doubt that "just blowing seafoam carb cleaner into the overflow" would necessarily get to the root of your problem, nor would the carb cleaner be able to work all the time. What it sounds like is that the carb float valve is sticking or has deposits. I simply went ahead and installed new ones as I couldn't bother to try and clean them, and they had been sitting for a long time and likely had pitted seats I thought. You can try cleaning them and if the seal is metal-on-metal (usually is on these models) and not a rubber tip, then others have been able to "hone" them using a polish so that they seal again. Either way, replace or clean, you have remove the carbs and open them up for dis-assembly. You probably would be advised to do that as there usually is other junk and accumulation on the jets and small passageways. Then you probably need to replace the various o-rings.

Dude - Nice bike!!! Good luck with it. Do yourself a favor. If you are having problems with the carbs, break them down all the way and clean all metal parts in an ultrasonic cleaner. Use a simple solution water and simple green. purchase carb rebuild kit for your specific bike, and rebuild the carbs to spec. You will thank yourself later. If you can't do the work yourself, take the carbs to a Honda dealer with a good mechanic that will be able to do the work. To be honest, and no disrespect, the forums are helpful and nice to chat on, but the help given tends to be general in nature and not specific, step 1, step 2, etc. Or it is rare that it gets that granular I guess I should say. There are some great videos on YouTube on how to rebuild carbs, but finding a video for your specific problem and carb is going to be rare. The best videos I found are here: http://www.youtube.com/user/mrmaxstorey. These videos and a Clymer for your specific bike will get you fixed up. I have used the seafoam product to stabalize my fuel, but nothing like this will fix a stuck float, sounds like you might have a stuck float and bad float bowl rubber gasket. There may be serial numbers on the side of your carbs, use these when trying to tracking down parts as well. Also, go to a site like Partzilla to find your specific make and model bike, and its related carb schematic to make sure you are getting the right replacement parts. A nickles worth of advice that can help you save time and money.
