Worst Motorcycle movie ever?
« on: July 22, 2006, 09:00:23 PM »
I just caught one of the worst motorcycle movies I think I have ever seen.

"Hells Angels on Wheels"

Bad dialogue, no plot at all, bad acting, crappy camera footage, stupid music :-[

I could barely make it through Wild One so that may say something about it. This movie seemed to have the same "Stupidity Frenzy".

Mad Max. Not becuase it's such a bad movie, but becuase it has inspired a lot of young people to slaughter good looking classic bikes to get a bike with the "Mad Max look".

She-Devils on Wheels is a classic.  Bad cinema at its finest.  Click on the link for the trailer.

I think you're wrong about Mad Max, (and I think you mean Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior) it was a goodmovie in its day and I'd like to see proof of the "young people" doing this look.

haha!! you want proof?? gimme a couple days!

And with the nicholson flick; I was watching it the other day as well. The only reason was just to see some cool bikes. I couldnt beleive how much of a bodge the ending was! He just drives the bike up, falls over, and the bike goes into flames. The icing on the cake is how hes dies right then and how he was still on the bike exactly how you would ride it while its fallen over and in flames. (yes i know its a dummy but cMON how can it be that bad???) AND THEN the movie just ends there!

jeez....

From everything I hear, it made money.  Of course they only spent about 50 bucks filming it.

First of all let me explain that my first post about Mad Max wasn't aimed against you guys who are building streetfighters, choppers or café racers. you guys know what you are doing, and you do it well.
It was a comment about some experience with people who say they are inspired by Mad Max and starts to molest a good classic bike with a hacksaw, cutting off parts, removing fork braces and brakes, and making them dangerous out on the road. And afterwards they start to ask why their bikes wobbles and act strange.

And to your question about the best movie:

"The worlds Fastest Indian" and "Motorcycle Diaries".

We had a bunch of radio ad slick 45's when I was a kid from the local movie theater. One of them was for (I think "Hells Angles on wheels")... There was a female charachter named "MATRESS BACK"...really! Was that in Hells Angels on wheels? I don't believe Jack Nicholson was in that!...
Speaking of Jack, and "Easy Rider"...did you know that in "Born to be wild", the term "Heavy Metal" (thunder) saw it's first use, and went on to name the music Genre? And as a former long hair, all that redneck persecution stuff was factual!
Oh, and by the way? CHIPS was a great show! When my daughter was about 2, she never missed it! It was right up there with "Highway Patrol", "77 Sunset Strip", and "Route 66"! When the stupid factor becomes so carefully engineered, it's called "Campy"!

The World's Fastest Indian for sure. Easy Rider because it's a classic.
Just ingnore the southern bashing the California movie makers stick in it.
I'm from the south, had long hair, and never had a run in with a "redneck".
Something about a long haired country boy comes to mind :)

This is debateable.
STONE
Now then it was just OK but it did have a massive influence on Australian Motor Cycle industry/ sales.
Nearly every one of the bikes featured in the movie was a Kawasaki Z 900 fitted with a headlight fairing.
good actual story about a heap of  X Vietnam Veterans bored #$%*less and formed a club. But changed the name to VVMC. The rest is history.
Pleanty of action& good views of Sydney Australia.

"Stone" was the best motorcycle "cult" movie ever made, full stop. "Worlds Fastest Indian" is certainly the best Motorcycle "general interest" movie ever made.

Mad Max was interesting, not a biker film, (in fact anti-biker is more like it) but the bikes were quite well engineered stunt bikes, I almost bought the remains of one of the few CB750 based bikes at a swap meet last year, it was a specially modified Norton frame and I remembered the bike from the movie, it was quite a trick looking "Cafe racer".

"Easy Rider" was just a bunch of contrived Hollywood bull#$%* to entertain the drugged out morons of the era, it had nothing to do with bikes, but rather, it was about a couple of hippie drug dealers on choppers travelling from town to town selling their #$%*. If they were driving cars, we'd all be cheering for the rednecks!

Beautiful bikes (I actually touched one of the "Captain America" bikes in Madame Tussauds waxworks in London in 1974) but the movie was rubbish. (IMHO) Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Now Terry, Easy Rider is still a classic from that era. Perhaps you should light one up and chill. :)
