You talking about oil changes!! I knew a guy in ALABAMA that owns a 1980 model car and has NEVER completely changed his oil and the car has 250K miles on it. The GOOD about this is HE changed the filter EVERY month then topped off the oil. By changing the filter every month, he prevented any contaminates  from building up. Have you ever seen an engine that used Quaker State for along time frame. The QS oil leaves behind so much paraffin from the WAX based oil that when you pull the valve covers, they look like they are full of BLACK CANDLE WAX>

That's a nice bike mate, and would be worth that (around $6000) here, but one too many zero's for the US market, they're common, and cheap............. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Holy crap, Dwight! Your patience certainly paid off. There are a lot of guys who'd give their left nut to find an unmolested, low mileage '77 in that condition. That bike and the '76 LT D are best of breed (IMHO) of the first gen GL1000. They both look like they're wearing a tuxedo compared to the red, blue, and yellow ones.

Now... think of the Boston bomber manhunt we saw on TV recently. Remember the cops swarming through neighborhoods? The bomber all bloody and hiding in a boat? Well, if you start posting pics of this bike being "bobberized", that would be you! We'll hunt you down like a dog!

The nice thing  about this Wing is that it still looks pretty much as good as it did in '77. Marcia? Not so much...

So now that you have the bike, how do you like it? I'm really hoping to have mine out this weekend. I reinstalled my rebuilt front calipers weekend before last, but was out of town this past weekend. Spring has finally arrived in Chicago, time to get back on two motorized wheels.

He has a bit of maintenance to catch up on before he will be riding it. Timing belt, carb flushing, plugs, valve adjustment, new tires and fluids, lube the controls, etc.
But, what's not to like.  Heard he was going to call her Marcia.
