The top part of the shelter (fake tank) is metal (the side parts are plastic), so you could remove the rack, mig weld up the holes and be good as new.

Yeah wouldn't it be nice if a place like Mayberry really existed. I still watch the black and white shows even though I've seen them so many times I've lost count. Today I was going to ride on up through Mt. Airy and on to the BRP but it started clouding up on me so I headed back after leaving Mount Pilot I mean Pilot Mountain ;D Few years ago I was on my 750K6 and stopped by Andy Griffith's boyhood home in Mayberry I mean Mt. Airy on my way to the parkway and took this pic.

I was usually in the 36-37 range with mine, but I also had the fairing, bags and trunk.

That's pretty good going for a US gallon (3.7 litres) Dwight, I was amazed at my 50 miles per imperial gallon (4.5 litres) on my first long ride on my big black 'Wang, but that overdrive 5th gear on my bike really helps too.

I love those pics mate, they really make me want to come on over for a motorcycling vacation, keep posting them! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Stumbled on this on Craigslist the other day, I am beside myself for not having the scratch to buy it, this is a screaming deal as is, and if the engine is in good shape it should be worth 2-3x what he is asking.

I would be more worried about the body part(s) my wife would take if I bought it than the ones I might have to sell.

Noticed Western Honda has been advertising a 25% discount on Goldwing accessories. Not sure what they would have for early wings.

Thassa nice old survivor, if it was mine I'd just replace the screen and tidy it up, and ride as is! I love the 4 into 1 exhaust, I don't think I've seen one on a 'Wang before? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I like the Bates bags, but bike would look better with bags painted to match and 'jammer taken off.

Yeah I know mate, but 'Wang's aint all about looks, they're smooth riding bikes, and you can do 500 (+) mile a day rides on them with a few creature comforts, (not like our "ride it twenty miles, snap some pics to post then ride it straight home again" antics that we're all guilty of) like that fairing and seat.

I think we should start a "Lets see a pic of your bike one state over", and all we'd see would be pics of 'Wangs with ugly seats and fairings........... ;D

Good point, Terry.  But when was the last time you did a 500 mike day? (I can't remember)
I did a (fast!) 200 mile day last month on the Z1, it was very comfy.  Of course with speeds over 100 mph at times, seat time was only about three hours.

Yeah, you're right mate, not since 2009 Steve, when I rode the Triumph back from Whyalla in South Australia's coastal "Outback", (700 miles) then a month later I rode the my BMW K1100LT to Sydney. (500 miles each way)

I've ridden my magnificent 'Wang 200 miles to my folks place and then 200 home again the next day, (last year) but because I drive around 600 miles per week with my day job, I don't tend to do long rides on the weekends as well. I've done a couple of 200 milers this year too, but this winter is way colder than last year, or I'm way woosier........

It's a brilliant long distance bike though, on a good day 100 miles just isn't enough, whereas on most unfaired bikes, 100 miles is way too long. I know that you know that looks aren't everything though, or else you wouldn't keep dragging home Fugly F's and K8's............ ;D
