Hi everybody, I signed up here about a month ago shortly after I bought my '77 CB750k but haven't really posted anything, I figured I'd start with an introduction. I've been riding/wrenching just over a year now so I'm still fairly new to bikes but have been able to soak in a lot of knowledge in the little time I've had a bike. I got my MC license in Spring of 2011 but wasn't able to get my hands on the bike until the following winter. I picked up 1979 CM400T off of craigslist and over a period of about 10 months fixed it up while also using it as my daily driver in the nice weather.
It went from this:

I'm a member over on DotheTon.com under the same username and I got a lot of useful knowledge and info from reading and participating in the forums so I hope to do the same on my new project here. I'll be bouncing back and forth between the sites but here I think might have some more specifics for the new bike.
Here's how it was when I got it:

My ultimate plans are to do a cafe styled restoration. I don't want to go crazy and hack anything apart, just streamline it a little. Lower bars, (Euro bars, not clubman) Giuliari style seat, different turn signals, taillight and headlight, and eventually a 4-1 exhaust. Nothing that can't be reversed. Once I get far enough down the road I'd also like to paint it. First thing's first though, I need to get it on the road.
The bike was very well maintained until about 2002 when it was put into a storage facility where it sat for 10 years. It was then sold to the mechanic I purchased it from who went over the the bike, cleaned the carbs, changed plugs, oil and points and basically got it back to a running condition. The front brake was seized when I bought it and after taking the caliper apart and cleaning the piston it's back in working order. So to get it inspected and on the street I need to get new tires, front turn signals, and a headlight. Money's tight right now so I've just been doing what I can cleaning it up here and there.
So that's where I am right now! I apologize for the LONG introduction and look forward to being a member here.
