Hi everyone,
I recently disassembled my CB550 motor and will soon be reassembling it. Upon inspection I noticed the face of the bottom end cylinder has been unevenly ground down by a previous owner. I contacted a local machine shop and they are able to help me reface and hone the cylinder for $200. Is this a standard fee?
The real question is... Should I also reface the other surfaces? :Top and bottom of top end, Valve cover, Valves etc. The bike has 30k miles and some pretty serious gasket adhesion. I could with a little eblow grease get the surfaces pretty clean.
