S.S. seat trim. Ducktail v.s K1?
« on: March 27, 2013, 12:21:46 PM »
I have a ducktail seat that is missing the stainless seat trim. Does anyone know how long the metal trim stayed the same? I'm wondering how to replace that trim. About the only place I see the trim sold separately is Yamiya. And $175! anybody know of anywhere else, or if I can steal it off a K1 seat?
Thanks, John.

are you committed to metal?
some people have luck with plastic stick-on door trim.

Your local auto parts store will have door trim (usually black or plastic chrome coloured) which would work also. You can use a blow dryer on it to heat it up lightly to help it mold to the curves. Although I'd test the blow dryer method on a small piece with the chrome first. The black works beautifully.

That's if your willing to cheat :)

Thanks guys. No, I'd like to find a real piece. Just wondered if anyone had sources/thoughts.
