im not familiar with the 750.
You can service the transmission without taking the top end apart. Not the worst thing in the world- you can even do the primary chain while you're there if you don't mind taking the rods apart. When you split the cases, make sure you keep track of the bearing retainer pieces, as well as the alignment dowel pins.
