It's Alive, It's Alive! with photos.
« on: March 27, 2013, 05:52:04 PM »
I decided to get this '73 going after looking up the title and realizing that I bought it TWENTY years ago!   Somewhere in between  I installed a front end from a '78 F model,
a 17' rear rim from a '77 K model( I Think) that was given to me by a Canadian on his way from Montreal to see America....until the engine blew up !   The front fender is from a 175 Honda....looks kinda OK.    The previous Owner thought the 4-2 Drag Pipes were too loud, so he welded a pair of Honda CB350 mufflers on.....wow, talk about restricted exhaust !
When I cut them off , I left a little bit of chrome tip , for the memories. .(honest Officer, these here pipes are no louder than all them there Harleys )
Picked up the Tracey Seat Tank Combo for $40 when a local bike shop closed and had an auction.  I always wanted one back in the day, but they cost $170 back then, and if you use an Inflation Calculator, it would cost $888 in todays money., so yeah, I think I got a deal.
Vintage Cibie headlight with 55w bulb.
Flat black rattle can paint application.....heat resistant grill semigloss on the engine....we'll see how it holds up.
Some kinda Superbike handle bars.      I found a set of four K&N filter pods up in the attic....right where I put them when they came off my '70 CafĂ© Racer around 1973.
As you can see, I'm going for kind of a  MadMax/RoadWarrior/Bobber/RatBike kind of look.
Oh, yeah, Dual Sport Kenda tires, ready for the Zombie Apocalypse.
I'm  thinking some kind of skid plate would add to it, maybe made out of an Aluminum Grain Shovel. hmmmm.dunno.
My original dream was to have a known specific part from every year of SOHC production on it....so far I have 73,77 & 78.
Here's Photos......feel free to pile on the quips, comments and barbs.

That is such an ugly piece of awesomeness!

I usually do not dig that look, but for some reason I like yours.  You really nailed it!  Are you only mixing 750 parts from different years, or are you considering 350/400/500/550 parts?  I mean c'mon!  ;-)

No, man.....I gotta keep it pure 750!( well, cept for the front fender).....who knows, I guess time will tell, huh?
After looking at the photos, I think I have to root around more in the attic, to see if I have some shorter shocks, get rid of some of that air between the tire and body.
    Thanks for the comments everyone.
