OEM spec battery?
« on: March 28, 2013, 05:10:15 AM »
I've had a problem in the past using batteries from the neighborhood auto parts store in my bikes. Where is the best place to buy batteries that meet OEM specifications including charging amps, etc?

I have a Scorpion AGM in my K4 and just ordered one for my K8, $66 shipped.
Had it only for a year but no issues and I like that it's sealed so no acid spills possible.

+1, bought the same type of battery from the same vendor to go on my 550K.

Also just picked up a MotoBatt for my 750F off Amazon. MotoBatt is cool because it has two positive and two negative terminals, allowing for accessories to be plugged in.

Need a better, newer points cover gasket? How about rubber washers for the headlight bucket? Click the link below:

Great, thanks!
It looks like the battery you suggested is of course 12V, but with 14 Amp Hours and most importantly 210 Cold Cranking Amps. That must be where these NAPA type batteries fall short. I'll look for one with those specs.

I would look into the charging system, and for old cables that have gone green inside. I've used those crap batteries in a bunch of sohc4s, and, all things being in good order, they last a few seasons with ease.
