"Fastest" Documentary (free Amazon Instant Prime video)
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:10:09 AM »
Last night I just discovered the documentary Fastest about the MotoGP rivalry between Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. Here's my review:

It's stinkin' amazing. If it doesn't move you, Jack you're dead.

Mebbe someone else has posted a review, but a quick search didn't turn up anything. It's free for Amazon Prime members, but worth the $2.99 rental or even the $10.00 purchase. (Note about purchasing Amazon videos: download each one you buy because Amazon routinely removes "purchased" videos from owners' libraries.)

The timing is perfect because I haven't watched motorcycle racing in years, but now I'm hooked, and the MotoGP tour kicks off on 7 April in Qatar.

must admit i thought it was rubbish , a very one sided account of the season . i watched all of them and unfortunately they just showed the rossi good bits . repeated the overtake on lorenzo in catalunya about 10 times , and the one in japan but failed to mention the races he didnt do so well at . not much of a documentary .

Mebbe it's not for all MotoGP aficionados; however, the racing footage is superb, the music is good, and it tells an extremely compelling story, providing a glimpse into the riders through interspersed interviews. Most documentaries fail to tell a compelling story. A drier, more balanced season recap might be more accurate, but I doubt it would be nearly as interesting to most folks. Among the reviewers on Amazon are a number who became MotoGP fans only after watching Fastest. I'd call that a success.

it doesn't have to be drier or less interesting to be accurate . if people have become fans by watching a one sided story i would call that deception . if it had been billed as a rossi story it would have been fine , as an account of the motogp season it was rubbish
