Went ahead and laced up a 350 hub because I already had a rim. I know it's not as good but it will work for me now and as I progress and need better brakes I will get them. Then I can use this as a spare. I don't want to have a fortune in this to only finish last. Right now my goal is just to learn.

Oh yeah, I am not using those pods. They came with the carbs and I am using them to keep out the trash.

What Exhaust are you going to use. Swarbick (bad spelling) in England produces great systems for these bikes. If you get a race system it can grow with you as you modify the motor later on.

Lots of options for that size.  I have a spare oddball open megaphone if you need something obnoxiously loud.

I don't blame you.  They make a good product.  I still have that one I picked up for my 750.  I love the look of it, but it was just too damn loud for riding around town.

holy cow, thats not bad. About 100 bucks for a stainless muffler. Before I buy a pipe I think i will need to make a turn up/in pipe to get it headed back toward the bike. I have a ways to go before I will buy that though. next on my list is to weld up the seams and place a tube under the engine to tie the two sides together.

***If you want to sell that one let me know.

Have you checked to see if the cheaper Mike's XS gold valve emulators will fit the sl350 dampening rod?

I think they will but I am going to assume that the race tech ones are made with a bit better QC and I imagine they also can give a base line to start with as far as spring rates fluid weight  etc. For now I will just throw in some straight springs and get it together. I will start buying race pieces as needed.

I just got some progressive springs for the 440, and now am wishing I got some straight springs and gold valves instead. I'm really curious if they will fit my rods, but doubtful since they are 33mm.

I would bet no. maybe you could upgrade the front forks to something like a kz750? that should have 35 mm forks.

I want to, but I'm trying to be practical about this. My wallet is empty keeping up with all of the projects right now, and I really just want to get them all mobile before the end of the year.

I am all for it. I've got some leathers on loan, but they are a bit big for me. I really have to get some proper gear so I can even run out there.
