Topic: Cb rear shocks......

All,
I have a 1975 cb400f and woke up to realise the shocks are leaking. Here in the islands replacement parts are limited to non existent. My question is can rear shocks from other cb models work for me? I'm not picky....close fit would work too.

Lots of shocks will work.  You need your center to center dimension, inside diameter of the top hole and the bottom hole and in some cases you will need to know the outside diameter of the shock head just to be sure it won't hit the frame.

Once you take these measurements you will find there are MANY shocks that will fit your bike.
