Headlight diameter?
« on: March 31, 2013, 09:45:28 PM »
Been chipping away at my CB750k6.  I ordered a replacement chrome ring and H4 light and both are ~8" in diameter.  My bucket is ~7".   Should I be b!tching to the seller or do I have the wrong bucket?

My bucket is marked HM-16M on the back.

The glass part of the light will measure 7". The ring and the shell opening will measure more, though still known as a 7".  Because they fit 7" lens.

The new ring is ~1" larger than my bucket and the new bulb assembly fits the ring perfectly.  It was sold as a replacement for a SOHC cb750.

Just gotta hear back from the seller now.

Thanks guys.

I appreciate the responses, but I don't think I asked the right question.  I'm relatively certain that this isn't a headlight from a CB750 and that I need a new bucket instead of returning the other parts.

Is this off a 360?

Here's my headlight:

At this point I think I'd prefer to just pick up a replacement.  My rattle can paint job is going to look like a$$.

Yeah that bucket looks weird. Close to CB750 but kinda warped. Stretched front to back.  And the hole at 12: o clock?

A stock 750 K6 headlight bucket should be marked: HM-20M

Honda part number: 61301-300-020B

Used on 750 K2 thru K6 and other SOHC models.

The hole was from a switch to shut off the headlight that the PO installed.  The original start switch had been replaced with a push button mounted between the gauges and the usual mess in the headlight bucket was made worse by all the extra stuff going on.  Hoping to get to that soon.

Thanks again, guys.
