carb boots problem
« on: April 04, 2013, 07:47:04 PM »
73 350F, first time messing with taking carb boots off motor to check o-ring and clean intake port. was an idiot and in a rush and mixed up the boots. now I have no clue which direction or arrangement they go in. I have tried a few different ways but no luck. does anyone know which way they are supposed to go so I may get my carbs back on and get riding?

my 72 750 has all the boots labeled based on cylinder number. I would assume that other similar bikes would be the same. Though I have knowledge to base that on, simply a guess, but might be worth taking a second look at them. Mine are labeled 1/4, 2/3, 2/3, 1/4 with one number being on each side of the coupler

ok mine have that too. i was confused because it wasn't labeled 1, 2, 3, 4. so by the double number i assume the boot labeled 1/4 works on both cylinders 1 and 4?

when the rubbers are on the motor a good trick is to put a straight edge across all four to align them for the carbs
