« on: April 21, 2013, 11:54:20 AM »
I've just filled it with oil  for the first time since the rebuild but i need to circulate the oil to prime it (just running the starter motor) also I won't be starting it yet. So how do i hot wire the starter motor to prime the engine.

You can take just keep kicking the motor using kick starter.  Take spark plugs out and you can do it by hand.

It's pretty easy to wire up the solenoid to work.

The large gauge wire coming from the starter goes to the solenoid. Should just have a ring terminal. The other side of the solenoid should have another ring terminal which attached your main + battery cable. Obviously that needs to be hooked up to the battery +.

The starter solenoid then has two small gauge wires coming out of it. These two wires power up the magnet inside which draws closed the terminals between the two + large gauge wires. I believe you just hook up one of the small gauge wires to battery + and one to ground. Use some sort of jumper that is easily removed because this will be your makeshirt starter "switch".

Then all you'll need is to hook up your large gauge ground wire between your engine and battery negative.

OR just kick it as was said. lol

Or stick a spanner between the two nuts on the solenoid. :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
