It's due to a word-for-word translation vs. a translation of the statement.  But I figure you all figured that out.  I just like pointing out the obvious.

Probably used  Google translate or other equivalent site.   You can translate one sentence to another language, then translate that to other language, keep on doing like a 5-6 times then back to English, using Google translate. The end result always entertained poop out of me.

I have bought guitars from Japan for years and thats quite normal...   Japanese does not translate well with translation programs, lucky i have friends in  Japan....

It's funny as a 30 year friend of mine is married to a Japanese professor who works at Wellesley College here in MA. I have used her for some interesting conversations and transactions. The Japanese folks are very honorable people. I'm, sure the fella is on the up and up. Holy crap.....translate that!

Yes ....semantics go out the the window. Shows how different we are (just in language) sometimes. All other stuff is the same in what we want.

How about something lost in the accent? When I first started working for my current employer the plant manager at the time had a real thick northeastern Maine accent (had problems with the letter R) then a supervisor from Mississippi with a real thick Cajun accent and finally another supervisor originally from Texas with an outright redneck accent. I swear for the first 6 mos I was always replying "huh? what?" or just simply nodding my head regardless if I understood them or not.

Ah guys when I first joined my squadron, because we flew Lancasters and the war had only been over for a decade or so we had Cockneys, Lancashire men, Irish, Geordie's, Highlander or 2, one from the Orkneys, a Kiwi then Newfs assorted Down Easters, French Canadians from the School of English and finally a North Shore New Brunswick French man oh and some one from Illinois. To hear the Kiwi, Geordie and North Shore New Brunswicker argue about how to rig one of the cables was interesting ( the new brunswicker spoke french and english  {Franglish} together, mixed up with every obscenity known both races ) and after getting my first owners manual in pidgin Japanese, that ad is not that hard to understand.
