4-section ATC Automotive Fuse Block Source
« on: July 07, 2010, 11:07:22 PM »
I've been looking for a cost effective block like this. Maybe there is a better source. Let me know. You can find them on the internet, but some companies wanted me to have a minimum order.

I think this one will fit my needs. I'm not completely happy with the clear plastic cover, because the tabs you squeeze to get it off I can imagine breaking at some point (maybe). It does has a little gasket in a groove to keep it watertight. You will also have to drill some more plastic out of the current holes to make it fit in my bike's ('77 CB550F) original fuse box mounting holes.

From Amazon.com $8.19 with shipping to Minneapolis. Search the site for "4-section ATC Automotive Fuse Block" from seller "ipodcarparts"

I got mine from summit racing the 4 slot one there is still just a bit more then the one you found. Although on mine I didn't use a 4 slot I thought about using one originally, but I couldn't find any way I liked to mount it in the original spot then I thought wait why mount it there and not under the seat in the little plastic pan, or in the pans spot, didn't feel like making a bracket to mount it, so I started going up in fuse counts hoping to find one that would span the entire length then I could separate each electrical section into individual fuses, make my own blown fuse indicator, and store spare fuses.

Got to about 10 fuses and noticed that I would have to get a 100 fuse fuse block just to span it, so I opted to mount the fuse block in the tray itself and still have a small storage spot, as well as keeping with a 8 slot fuse block for blown fuse indicators which I never installed instead now it works great for storing extra fuses. The 3 needed fuses 15A main, 7.5A headlight, and 5A tail light along with 2 spare 15A, 2 spare 7.5A, and 1 spare 5A.

Just found this site while looking:

http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/d136.html

I may see if the six slot block will fit  in the k8 fuse block area and simply not hook up three of them but use them to hold spares.

I actually saw that site. Looks like fairly good prices, but I'm trying to be really cheap these days (about $40,000 in tuition left.) The Amazon seller I mentioned in the OP had other fuse blocks available too. I say check 'em out.

I have a bunch of  mini blade single place fuse holders laying around if anyone is interested. I haven't found a real good way of mounting them. Just kind of have them hanging there. Glad to know, if I pop a fuse, that I can find what I need anywhere...

Just bought a Napa 4 way ATO/ATC $16.00 for my CB400 Now I have to find time to wire it up. Number of part is 785136. I did find that that fuse boxes were hard to find in my area that would work.
Almost there!

Just bought a 4 post at NAPA with a center screw to hold the cover on for $16. I looked around in my area but found nothing that I liked but at NAPA. I haven't put it on yet. Neighbor has water proof connections that we are going to solder on.
