Topic: Looking for a RC Eng. sidewinder exhaust.

Does anyone know where I could find preferably a vintage RC Engineering sidewinder exhaust, or any other vintage RC drag exhaust that does NOT protrude below the engine?  They seem to have made some semi to full custom stuff as well.  I'm interested to know if someone has anything they would part with.  I could also be interested in other manufacturers pipes as long as they are true 70s vintage(earlier the better and yes ...Vance and Hines DOHC pipes don't count- 80s:)).

    Good idea on the coffee   I have no idea what the one on the left is, but the other two sure look like RC "scavenger" exhausts.  Curious, are both sets of the RC mufflers the early ones without the RC cast logo? 

When you say "Middle one is available if George declines!" you are referring to the 2nd RC exhaust right, not the one we have already agreed on?  Just making sure...  If your 2nd one was a sidewinder...  I'm trying not to start an RC exhaust museum here!

   Did you get the PM I sent you yesterday.  I wanted to check as some PMs reportedly haven't gotten through lately.

   I'm pretty sure that your exhaust is an early chrome RC scavenger as well.  Under the engine, low kick up for the muffler.  The sidewinder that I am looking for has the header pipes kicking way out to the right and running outside the frame rails with a near straight shot down the right side with the muffler, like in the photos below.  Nice exhaust though!

Curious do you prefer the early system of the later system with the cast RC logo on the muffler?

Well, I don't really need another header, but you have a box to pack anyway...  and Calender girl needs that cast logo.  before I say yes, do you have a cylinder block to match those 970 RC pistons you mentioned having earlier?  They were Venolia or Arias?  Condition?

 GEO :   Didn't V&H work for RC in the early days ? Like contact them and ask Terry or Byron who made RC pipes and megaphones = I would think a West Coast pipe bender name MURRAY ................ MAYBE.  Do-not ask a hundred questions if you get to talk to V&H as they are busy making big bucks selling new model pipes, look at their display at the dealers shows. If you hope to find a NEW ONE in the box then be ready to pay the purist price.

Ideally, I'd only be interested in a vintage exhaust, but not necessarily a perfect condition one.  Something that has had a little fun in it's life is fine by me.
