I'm using a mostly stock CB750 as a race engine. I've been running Motul 5100 10W40 in the engine for several seasons, with good results. I'm reassembling it now with new rings and a light cylinder honing. I've had problems in another kind of race engine trying to seat rings with semi-synthetic oil. Should I run the engine initially with something else, for ring seating, or will Motul get the job done?
