maybe you said this in a previous post but I didn't see anything....

what type of oil have you been using? have you always been using the same oil or as you updated the motor you changed oil as well?
how often do you change the filter/oil too?

Hey Trevdawg,
I don't want to hijack the thread so I'll keep this short.

I have a BUNCH of CB 550 \ 750 goodies and live near you (just north of the IL border) so LMK if you need anything.

What did you use to cut the boxed metal with all of the turns?

That is so f'n sweet.  Love it.  I am 100% ripping off this technique - I'm sending your pics to my machinist this week.  I promise to refer to it as a "FunJimmy chainguard" whenever it's admired. :)

You know what would set that chainguard off nicely?

 ;D  ;D. Thanks Syscrush.

My chain isn't a bad as it looks in the pics.
Just in a winter coat of Motul chain lube.
Should clean up nicely.

Hey Jim, who did your anodizing? Did you find another guy that works for beer after hours? I tried finding a place near me was never successful.

There are a couple of shops that anodize.
They can be hit & miss, but I found another that will occasionally slip my stuff in a run.
I can be persuasive, and if that fails, I show them pics of the bike. Who could say no to that?

Cracking me up Jimmy, persuasive fellow...
Now if you were a female, I can imagine your persuasive powers would be multiplied...

Your touring ride coming up in June should be a good one.
If you happen to range into San Luis Obispo area I recommend the tri-tip steak in the central California area and lots of great roads and views in the area. Pretty good vineyards in that area as well. The Sweet Edna at Paragon Vineyards (only available at their vineyard) is very special dessert wine of the Orange Muscat variety. I love that wine.  Paragon has some very nice wines and have been top rated for their price point...

And yet, you didn't have them anodize those damn blue caliper plugs black yet. ;)

Yammie doesn't have a patent on the blue Syscrush, you just can't look past them...
Jimmie will probably keep them so they can bug you about the build...

FJ, on a lark, I found this today.  You could buy this fork, pull the lower, mill off the caliper mount, paint/coat it, etc. without taking your bike out of service until it was time to do a swap on a rainy day - do you have rainy days in BC? ;)

WHY would he want to do this Syscrush?
Is there something wrong with the left fork, or is it just the aesthetics are bugging you?

Blue caliper caps & vacant caliper mounts will crush his system like Kryptonite!  ;D
My dark secret is out. :)

But seriously - $20!  If you don't do this, I'll assume that you're leaving 'em on for spite. :D

Yeah Jimmy, that's nothing but spite to not spend money on something that isn't broken just to please one person's personal diatribe on Yammy blue parts.
I can't believe you are so shallow to crush Syscrush that way rather than spend the money. That silver fork with the black one would look the balls...

Let's see, $35 shipped for the fork, $20 to powder it, hour to shave the mounts, hour to clean up fork to uniform finish for powder to look good, $40 to strip and re-powder both after the two don't match...   ::)
Plus the three or four hours to tear down and then reassemble the forks after being redone.  Cost of new seals and new fork oil...

I'm surprised the flat black on the fork lowers doesn't bug you with gloss black used on the rest of the bike.  ;D

Jimmy, does anyone make blue spark plug wires?

Have you gotten the bike back on the dyno Jimmy?

Not yet. Weather's been a bit late, but I've got a fist full of jets & needles so it won't be long.
Stay tuned.  :)
Will do. You should be pleasantly surprised. ;D

Yep, with the cam straight-up - it should be a lot easier to tune.  ;)
Take care,
