sluggish off the start
« on: April 05, 2013, 07:13:08 PM »

Hello everyone in hondaland,
Well after looking into it, I found that the acelerator pump spray jet for # 1 cylinder was completly
blocked, good call vinhead, got it unblocked, not easy!!!!, I had to take off the carb from the rack.
go in the hard way, hoping this will do it.while I was in there I put new pilot jets #40 from what I
can tell most people think #35 are to small, with #120 mains. I have #125 just in case, resync carbs and hope for the best. Im slowly but surely getting there. oh one question is 1 1/2 out
a good place to start for the air mixture screw ??
Please and thank you.

More confusion. Now you have two posts.

With that Carpy exhaust and pods you will need #42 idle jets and the non adjustable slide needle will have to be changed to a adjustable needle (1976 or 77) so you can lower the clip one notch from stock OR...You will have to shim the stock non adjustable needle .020 thousandths +the .012 thousandths pocket depth inside the slide), or it will have hesitation when giving it quick throttle.

BTW.. about 1 turn out on the mixture with my set up.
I have extensive experience with this same set up on the 1978 CB750K. -Lucky

Thanks lucky, I have adjustable needle jets, Ive lowered them down one, Ive installed #40 idle
jets, I got my acelerator pump working properly all 4 jets working, lower end has improved a ton,
Ive noticed at high rpm just alittle sluggish, I ve installed #125 mains up from 120 hoping it
will improve, Ill keep you posted. thanks again for the help.
