I recommend forking over the $$ for a few extra sets while you're there to set up for a plug chop.  Fresh plugs are always easier to read when you're trying to determine your throttle setting mixtures.

yeah i figured id pick up a set and save my current ones as backups.

I had messed with my mix screws a bunch to try and get them perfect mix but had it set too lean for a few days and the plugs started to whiten a touch.  I put it back to what i had it set to before and then this all started happening shortly after....well heres hoping i geuss:)

yeah i got an air filter but it just sits inside and theres three screws securing it in place....i think its time i looked and the micro fiche for that

edit1: ok just looked yeah im missing the stupid plactic cover never knew i was supposed to have one *sigh* geuss ill start looking for one of those now too....

edit 2: luckily just found one on ebay. put down a bid on it already, as for my jets i actually rebuilt the carbs a couple months ago with new jets and such so they are the right size.

Most of the time you'll want to leave that air cover off...

I actually bored out a hole in my air cover. It gets enough air flow, and still helps prevent too much junk from getting into the filter....

If you get a can of the "instant cold"
and carry it with you , you can give it a shot
under the seat, and you will know immediatly....
the other is carry a couple spare plugs...
when it quits plug one into each seperate coil
lead, and crank for spark,it will tell you which side is going
           dead.......
