Topic: Re-Use spokes from Goldwing Rear wheel?

Getting around to lacing up my rear wheel to my 550 hub and the spokes are in good shape on the GoldWing wheel. Can I re-use them? I am curious because I noticed the flange is slightly different on the hubs. If I can I would really rather save the money, especially as if I buy new spokes for the rear the front will then look out of place.

Anyone done this before? just re-used the spokes on their GoldWing Rim swap?

I would say that if the spokes are in good condition then re-use them.  Lace it up and check to make sure the difference in the flanges doesn't bend them too much.  If that is good then there you have it.  A buddy of mine is using my old GL spokes on his custom 82 Virago build with a Harley wheel.

I also reused my gl spokes along with the washers or spacers if you want to call them that , seem to be reinforce the spoke nipples on alloy rim ,not sure I know they are not on the steel rims works well.bill
