CB750a engine cover removal for polishing
« on: April 09, 2013, 06:14:03 AM »
Hi,

I have a CB750a in the shop. The customer wants me to polish the enginecovers.

So: can I remove the covers without expecting the unexpected?

I do have the
* (standard CB750) dynamo cover gasket
* shifter lever cover gasket

Would I nee more?

Please advise.

Cheers, Rene

"Shifter cover" seals would be a good idea - although you may be able to reuse the existing.

Are you going to remove/replace the convertor cover?  More gaskets - more seals . . . .

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

Hi,

My intention is to remove all the covers from the engine, but I am in serious doubt because I have never worked on an A type before.

Jim F. has the "gaskets and seals" for sale (top topic on this forum section) Manuals are also scanned and can be viewed under "Service & Owner's Manuals" topic that sends you to the information. It can be polished up very nicely, but the surface needs to be protected to keep the polished look.
