transmission "popping" when rolled in neutral
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:29:54 PM »
As i was pulling my '76 CB750 into the garage today i noticed a sort of popping sound coming from the transmission.

It pops twice, back to back, at the same spot on every rotation of the front sprocket.

Doesnt do it when rolling backwards and its not noticeable when coasting with the bike running. That could be because of the straight pipes though :D

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chain and or sprocket are worn and is popping back into the track is my guess. Usually when it is too tight.
