Hush,
Do they bury those plugs into deep wells down low ? If they're anything like the GSXR750's they may...;Ive found a few of those deep spark plug wells have drain holes down the bottom in the head that fill up w/ road grime and then when the owner rides his bike through the rain regularly those deep wells fill w/ water which tends to corrode the spark plug cap and then they break down internally and spark shoots directly from the cap to the surrounding aluminum on the valve cover & head. It's just something to watch for...,w/ a bright little maglite down those deep holes... :)

Scratch my last post, carbs gush more petro-chemicals than the Exon Valdez!!!! >:(
My only thought now is that the floats are sinking, I removed that carbs and stripped them down to nothing.
All sweet as, refitted the floats and bowls with out rebuilding the top ends and gravity fed gas from a high tank, once the carbs hit the full mark they just kept going, gas came up through the mains which are a lot higher than the float levels and even the bowls.
So I'm looking for a test to check the floats, how do I check them for float/sink ability???
I cannot remove the bowls with gas in them as it just goes everywhere. :(
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

What type of floats are they ? If they are the solid type you should probably find a known good one and then submerge them for a time & do a comparison test between them.
The bad ones would be heavier. Sorry to hear about your fuel loss issues on that bike..,I hope you don't smoke around her ::).

Well we cheated a little, the second set of carbs arrived and we slapped them on without even opening them up.
They leaked too, not as bad as the originals, same type of leakage through the back openings.
Anyhow onward and upward, I charged the battery and sent my son the task of buying some new plugs as the old ones seemed to be gas affected.
New plugs, charged battery, fresh gas.....vroooom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
So we got game and threw the tank/seat and fairings on, the screen is still around at sons place so still some bits and pieces to do, looks more like a bike now, have to hold back from taking it for a blast up the road ha ha ha..........

Exactly a month since last post and it is looking a different bike, still awaiting mirrors as GSXR250 mirrors are made of unobtainium!
Has a minor problem with accelleration which I think is due to it sitting so many years and now we have warmed the beast up, all the moisture trapped up in the head area has become liquid again.
Running the bike yesterday had brown water (yes it's a tea kettle!) running from the muffler, this would worry me if it was green water as the bike is water cooled and half of it is anti-freeze.
I think plugs may have become fouled by this water, hence the refusing to accellerate, got called to work today or I would have investigated this further.

Bike sold, $1300 which maybe gets my boy his outlay which began with $600 which in my mind was $400 too much to pay.
New tires, battery, replacement carbs, remade fairings, bulbs, new brakes, rebuilt forks and seals plus about 40 hours of my time at $40 an hour,...OK I lied about the last bit, no one pays Hush to work on bikes especially not my son. ;D
Anyhow last weekend as I rolled happily through the foothills on Hawke's Bay with 6 other riders, a new basket case was being dropped off at my place.
The new machine taking up space in my shed...a very very badly abused CBR400RR, photos to follow. ;)

Alright last time you tuned in our intrepid bike rebuilders had stripped the GSXR down to it's frame, now painted silver and the engine side covers also gleaming shiny black it was time to add the alloy swing arm and wrestle the little 4 cylinder motor back into it's frame.

One thing i was wondering why have put this line as you signature. Some women have never been fitted by a professional, while other women sexy lingerie have not had a proper fitting in several years. I think may you have one site related to it..
