With the existing flasher unit, the turn signal light selected goes out, there is no flashing, and there is a continuous flasher cancellation reminder buzz.

With new replacement flasher unit, the turn signal light selected gets brighter as it should, but there is no flashing, and there is no flasher cancellation reminder buzz. (BTW, This is also what happens when I connect the 2 wires in place of a flashing unit.) (and I did try switching around the 2 wires to the new flasher unit.)

What's up, do you think? I need to get this fixed for a safety certificate.

This bike was working properly when parked 10 years ago by previous owner, and I think the flashers worked correctly last fall when I got the bike.

I just solved a similar problem. check that your signal hots are not being crushed and being grounded, thats what prevented them from blinking for me (my right rear signal hot wire was spliced by the bracket bolt.

If it is both blinkers I would look for bad grounding. The rears have a very poor grd source at the base of the light the main ground should be checked also at the motor mount bolt and the ground near the seat latch

Are you checking this with the motor off and power on? If so, keep in mind when the motor is not running it is not unusual to have this happen. If the battery is a little low there is not enough power to run the flasher, buzzer, etc.

Motor off and power on. I'll check with motor running right now.

Ha! It acted the same with the motor running, but when I smacked the new flasher unit with a screwdriver handle, it began to work properly including the cancel reminder buzzer! Fixed. Thank you for your support.
