1975 CB750 TOP END REBUILD-Question
« on: April 10, 2013, 07:31:37 AM »
Is it possible to rebuild the top end (Need to bore and Hone, new pistons rings, etc) without taking the bottom end/ trans out of the bike?

Not unless you have a frame splace kit (a section of the upper frame tube that unbolts).

Then you obviously haven't worked on a 750. lol There is about 1/4" of clearance from the valve cover to the frame. You can't even get the valve cover off.

Sorry, I misread his question.  I didn't catch the part about removing it from the bike.  I thought he asked if he needed to remove the bottom end/trans to rebuild the top end.

Thanks guys! I've seen people do it on the 550's, wasn't sure if it was possible on the 750's.
