A little off topic as its not aussie beer... Buuut the germans did it right with Stella Artois favorite beer to date..
There are no absolute truths. The truth of a theory is merely its power to produce predictions that are confirmed by observations.

Ok, maybe we could change the question to ask:  in your country, what beer recieves the most attention from foreigners that doesn't deserve it and what beer should they be sure to try.

Overrated US beer: Coors light

Try:  Blue Moon, preferably on tap and throw out the orange they give you (I don't get that?)

Dave as beer drinker of some experience I think if I had to drink Corona all the time I would stop same for Coors, Fosters, or Canadian. My problem is that the chemical companies that sell us beer now have changed out or stopped making most of the suds I used to like (Mcewans I.P.A., Bass, Club, Capilano Old Style).I also think they've changed the taste of Guinness over the years.

We had a "games special" brew in 1982 for the Brisbane Commonwealth games, 8%, didn't take many to the wobbly boots on.... ;D

I've got to get suds today or tomorrow weather permitting (weather network and environment Canada are burbling about a winter storm coming through freezing rain, ice pellets, mixed percip, rain all the good stuff) so I'll check if it's still around Steve-o.

RR I agree. The #$%* eating cocksuckers, there should be room for all tastes but of course that would interfere with profit.

Really, I have always heard that it ain't the steers in texas who like blue moon ;) haha, nah I like blue moon as well.  I would say that one beer that gets way to much attention that is complete garbage is miller lite.  I am a bud light fan if I am to be drinking on a hot summer day at the lake or in the yard, but every now and then I want Rolling Rock.

As far as more artisan beers, my favorite (and one you foreigners should look for) is anchor steam.

Demon, we are in the 80s here and it is smooth sailing into summer time.  If you get snowed in and the mail still runs, we'll all have to mail you some beer to help you stay warm 8)

At one time in America including Canada, there were local brewers who had different beers that met local tastes. Then Budweiser came along and drove the smaller outfits out of business or bought them out. I used to work an both NY and California at one time. On my trips home from Cali, I would bring a coupe of cases of Coors which was not distributed East of Rockies at that time for my friends. Back in Cali, it was fairly cheap. I actually drank Olympia back in Cali and enjoyed it.

Now we have Micro Brewers springing up and you can get some good and not so good stuff. You can bring your own "Growler" and they fill it up. Sadly, I found out I am allergic to Malt, Barley and Hops. I am stuck with Bourbon. I can handle the sample glasses they have. I tip the Barman and try a few samples.

What I am trying to say, is that local businesses are turning out a good brew and we are not trapped by the large mega brewers that dictate what you had to drink.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

You are about to get a record cold snap, we got it last night. Freezing rain in the western half of Oklahoma.

I used to say "Foster's- Austrailian for sh8 canadian beer."  Foster's austrailian adctually existed at one tome in U.S.  Foster;s imported was canadian made.

What ever happened to ringnes?  Haven't seen those in decades.

It's not really a predicament if you live outside of a city you make allowances, #$%*ty weather comes in you make sure you have pottable water for coffee, other water to flush the toilette, woodstove or gas stove for heat and cooking, a functioning radio, food canned or other wise etc it would be nice to have a small generator to run the fridge, freezer or water pump sump pump whatever and maybe this fall I'll get one if the money doesn't have to go some place else as far as fridge or freezer goes, remember don't open the doors to much and throw a thick blanket over them and the food is good for at least 48 hrs. Basically you adapt.
