Will it fit ?

Think a cb500 fit in the back of a mazda3 hatch with its wheels off? I dont have a trailer and need to transport it along with my belongings home for the summer.

i doubt it would fit in Mazda 3.   it would fit perfectly on a Honda Element.  ask me how i know :)

You got a shot if you take the handlebars off enough to let them have slack. It is gonna be in at an angle tho. plenty of padding so you don't crush all the interior plastic

I was thinking with the rear seats down I could get the forks to sit in the rear footwell while the frame stands upright.  This should be fun  :). I've had an IKEA klippan loveseat in my car with the seats down and the 5th door closed (knees kissing the dash and shifting is not fun though).

make sure to remove the tank.  would be sad if the tank got dented during the loading

Find another way. A trailer on the Mazda.

 The tank isnt in the best shape and the bike is half disassembled as is. The Bike is in the shed and the engine and tank are next to me on my desk.

It's going home with me after exams so I can work on it and get it in good working order for safety and riding hopefully mid summer.

Side note. I've had 8 tires on rim, 2 suitcases, g/f and dog w/cage in my mazda3.  This should be fine. Just the bike, my luggage, tools, extra parts and no passengers.

As a previous mazda3 hatch owner I'm going to say no. The hatch glass always limited what went in. Now. If you took the wheels off, drained the gas and oil and tipped it on its side you could get it in enough to tie the hatch down. However getting it over the long ass back bumper without scratching it will be a challenge. If you go for it take pics haha.

Thought you were talking about hauling the bike as a whole, not in pieces.  Post some pics once everything is loaded

Ill post pics :D.

The tank is empty and the engine too. Tank is being prepped for derusting and stripping and much bondo. The engine was stripped down to change the primary chain. Been waiting for "spring" to catch up with spring here.  20cm's of snow scheduled for tomorrow. :(  But with my exams and moving, ive waiting till im moved.

Sorry, yeah. I didnt think I'd get the complete bike in.  Mainly worried about getting the frame in and door shut. I'll figure something out.. Wont be for 2 weeks.  Ill post pics then.

With everything being empty I personally think it'll fit. Our 3 allowed the front seat to fold flat. Not sure if yours has that option.

Honestly, if it's in piece already, I'm sure you could do it.

I have moved across country in my little Mustang, and that included a bed, desk, dresser, and a bunch of boxes. And I don't even have a legit trunk.

However, another option could be to attach a tow hitch your car, and rent a trailer (they're 40 from Uhaul and about 150 for the hitch). The bike+trailer wouldn't weigh more than 1200 pounds.

This dude towed a boat...

That's my car and my friends bikes on his trailer ( I cant have it for the summer as he needs it for those crf230's).
Only have a class 1 hitch and Mazda North america says don't tow in the owners manual.

Mazda Europe says only tow 1000 lbs and only with the manual transmission which I have. I went with the Europeans recommendations.

I think the uhaul trailers are a bit heaver than what I could safely tow.

If it is a little long and the bike is already in pieces, remove the fork legs, it will give you just that bit more room to get it in ;)

+1 Get a hitch and grab a motorcycle trailer from U-Haul. Cost me $15 a day and is the easiest and safest way to move your bike.
