Take the forks out of yokes, makes frame lighter and a lot 'shorter'
I've had an XS650 in the back of a Camry, took rear seat squab out and tied it to the roof

1,000 pounds should be more than enough capacity for a small trailer and the bike. A 400 weighs less than 500 lbs and since the engine is out it can go in the car making the rest of the bike even lighter.

Could someone do me a favour and please measure their cb500 (stock) from fender to fender as well as from  rear of frame/swingarm to front of forks..
I dont have access to my bike right now and need to get some plans in order for taking this thing home.  I.E will it fit in my car or not.

Much appreciated :)

No need to measure, our site lists the CB 500 wheelbase as 55.5" and add roughly 22.5" for 1/2 the diameter of both rims & tires, estimate 78" O/A.

Based on a Honda photo (scaling based on wheelbase) - the tip of the front fender to the tip of the rear fender is about 78.5".

Remove the front fender, and the distance becomes a little less than 73".

Remove the front and rear fender and the distance becomes about 69".

So front wheel & fender off should give you less than 72".
