Skin cancer cure ?
« on: April 11, 2013, 09:09:03 PM »
Hi guys, I have recently been prescribed a new cream that destroys most types of skin cancers, it was developed in my home state and is new to the market. It is not yet covered by the pharmaceutical benefits scheme here so it is quite expensive at around $150 dollars a tube, its called "Picato ointment or gel". While looking into this new cream i found that it is made from the sap of a weed called "Radium weed" or "milk weed", after googleing and looking at this plant i found that it grows all around where i live. To cut a long story short, i have acquired a supply of this "weed" and have applied it to some small Basil cell carcinoma's just as a matter of curiosity and it is working. It is exhibiting all the same symptoms that come with the ointment, its started to blister and what i expect is that it will dry up and fall off after about a week, as other reported users of the weeds sap have done. If this works as well as it is seeming to so far,  it looks like i have found a great fix to a problem i have had to put up with for years, to date i have had around 40 skin legions removed including a 4 inch long piece just removed from my scalp. I will post up results as i get them....

The plant's sap is toxic to rapidly-replicating human tissue, and has long been used as a traditional remedy for common skin lesions, including cancer.  Be careful to keep it away from your wedding tackle.  ;D  I grow milkweed in my garden but it's a different plant (asclepias syrica) though it does have a similar milky sap with some toxic properties.  I grow it for the Monarch butterflies but it does not seem to have medicinal properties that I could find.  The Radium Weed though not native is found here but I am just not familiar with it.  Time to study up.

I have read that some people get skin rashes and there are a small amount that are allergic to it, it only seems to react to sunspots {solar keratosis} and BCC's so far....  ;)  I am amazed at how fast its actually working and its not effecting the "good" skin around the lesion, i can see a clear margin around the sun spots. I have a small bcc on my face that i'll try next, its close to my left eye so i'll have to be careful... ....

just out of interest we supply bins to a company here on the gold coast that processes peplus weed, they have their own farms etc,we dispose of the leached out processed weed, they supply the active stuff world wide which goes into an anti skin cancer cream, they get like one or two grams of this stuff per tonne of weed, thats why its dear?

I've heard Aussies have a pretty high incidence of skin cancer. I hope this stuff works for you all down under.

Makes you wonder what other plants will have miraculous cures for common diseases. We finally legalized marijuana in my state. I've heard cultivating it in Mississippi can lead to a life sentence in prison. this pure political BS if you ask me. If there are medicinal properties that why is it still illegal?

You know, cannabis oil also attacks sun cancers and has been used for medicinal purposes for 1000's of years, The oil from the seeds is the most beneficial oil to consume known,  Govts and minority groups suck....

Sounds very promising! I wish some of that weed was growing around here. I asked my dermatologist about a topical cream for BCCs a few years ago, but she talked me out of it due to the expense. If I recall correctly, it had to be used everyday for a month or more.

Gday Scott, radium weed is an old school remedy or medicine , its on every continent in the world, and it works, i have only done 2 applications so far and one is already blistering and coming off. The new cream called "Picato" works after as little as 3 applications over a couple of days and then watching for a bout a week for it to finish its course.... If this ends up being as good as i think ir is i will be stoked.... ;D  I'm sick of getting sun cancers cut out, i have one on my collarbone to com off in a couple of weeks but i am going to treat it today, hopefully by then it will be gone.....

The stuff I looked into before was called Aldara. It was applied twice a week for 16 weeks. 250 mg costs between $153 and $353, according to a quick search.
Jerry, any idea what Picato would cost?

my wife asked me to get some from the place we service with the bins,,they dont make the cream i had to explain, they supply the active ingredient worldwide,if you can use just the raw plant effectively and grow some at home thats ideal,i was talking with a guy there about the weed and the company is trying to genetically modify it to produce more of the active element, you would hope that brings the cost down?

Did a little searching about Picato. About $600 for three .47 gram tubes. I'll sure take a close look at every weed I come across before mowing them down from now on.
