400 trans in a 500-550

Is there anyone new here with info on doing this swap. When the full Yoshimura cafe bike comes together it sure would be nice to have a 6-speed.

Thanks,
Rick

Wont fit sorry
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I have a yoshimura 6 spd close ratio gear box,...no electric start or kickstart, bumpstart only. Also have a yosh 5 speed CR, can't remember but I had to give up one starting method for that one?

I remember some of the gears came in honda packages, I always wondered if you could borrow different ratios from other models then mix n match? They made a big difference on the track with a peaky motor, but had real tall first gears, not great for the street.
