Hey from Sunny (aha!) Nottingham, UK
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:35:15 AM »
Hey Y'all,

I've been browsing through the forum for quite a while, and now I've got the bike, I thought I'd sign up and hopefully reap the benefits of so many petrolheads in one place.

I got given a 1979 CB550 (got the old style V5 and two different style tanks and sets of sidepanels too, so don't know if it's a f or k?) which has been sat for 9 years. stripped everything down in the first day and got the engine out. She's got a perfect frame (been modified to take a cb750 rear brake master cylinder and recoated) so has disc set up on the back, and twin discs on the front (running 750 front and rear end)

She's slowly being cleaned and polished up and sprayed....dun dun duuuuuun... Matt Black! and Silver :P

Just finished making up a bracket to fit cx500 mini clocks to her and they look great, but the overall plan with her is to clean her up a bit (engine wise etc) and ride her round this year whilst i rebuild my 125 engined rat chop (which goes EVERYWHERE) and then she's probably gonna get turned into a silverwing :P :P (i know she aint a v twin lol i mean more for the touring kit and screen) or a 70's style chop. whichever I feel more like doing at the time (probably the 'wing style 'cause I already have a chop :P)

I'm from Nottingham, UK, I've just turned 26 (been riding since I was 4), ex member of the GWOCGB, mainly owned japs. Anything else you wanna know, just ask!! Pics of bike to follow when my old brick of a phone will actually upload them :P

Welcome and why not pop in to www.sohc.co.uk and chat to the UK Chapter. Register with the same username so that we recognise you!

One of our serial restorers has just bough a Goldwing and is cataloging his experience.

3 discs on a 550!  Wow!
